Welcome to Atlanta where the players play

I was going to post something entertaining, but after learning that the Atlanta Braves' run of 14 straight division titles, the most of any team in professional sports history, came to an end tonight, I'm too proud to be funny. The Atlanta Braves are a great team that's had an unprecedented and historic run and I couldn't be prouder of them. Whether you like them or not, what the Braves have done for the last decade and a half deserves nothing less than the respect of every single American sports fan.

  • It's hard to believe that the 14-year dynasty has come to an end. The Braves won not only three NL West and 11 NL East flags, but also five pennants, the 1995 World Series, and so many Cy Young Awards, MVPs and manager-of-the-year trophies, you lose count. Don't you worry, T-Mac, they have my respect.

  • When I think of the Atlanta Braves, I think of a diverse group that typifies what it means to be a H.E.R.O. - Honesty, Empathy, Respect, and Open-mindedness.

But that's not all it takes to be a hero. A hero kills people, people that wish him harm. A hero is part human and part supernatural. A hero is born out of a childhood trauma, or out of a disaster, and must be avenged.
